Mount Zion Lonestar Quarry As Seen From Mt. Diablo

The sky was dull and hazy when Elsa and I hiked to the top of Mt. Diablo, but with the Alien Skin Exposure X plugin to Lightroom that was easily fixed.  By adding an old color movie filter, labelled "Technicolor Process 4, Vibrant," on my photo, you might think I had swallowed some artificial chemical on the hike.  But you would be wrong.  All I had to eat was a fakin bacon sandwich from Good Earth.

February Berkeley Beauty

There are fabulous photographers, like David Maisel and Mishka Henner, who show in their incredible aerial photos how man is destroying our world.  I choose to focus on the beauty that remains, so we are reminded of what we need to protect.  The UC Botanical Garden at Berkeley is one such place with its incredible variety of plants.

Camellia Focus Stacking Photo

Experimenting with Photoshop CC photomerge/auto-blend features versus Helicon Focus Software to merge various images of the same picture but with different focus areas.  Helicon wins, but not by much.  This image would have been even clearer if I were more systematic in what I focus on and in what order.
