Catching UP - Greek art

Since returning from Greece this past June, it's been a flurry of medical issues, doctor appointments, surgeries, etc.   Things are finally looking up enough for some catch up.  Here's the one and only 10x7 travel pen & ink and watercolor painting done in Paros, looking at the view of the Piso Logaras hills from our apartment balcony.

The Cat Who Took Sam and Lucy for a Walk

On a coastal walk in Piso Logaras, Paros, Greece, we were adopted by a cat who herded us along, waiting for the photographer to catch up, sometimes leading, sometimes in the rear to make sure no one got left behind.  It was the best guided tour I've ever been on!

Rainbow Studies - Final Ibiza Painting

The painting "Life Map Rainbow" (top, pen & ink & watercolor painted in Ibiza July, 2011 ) is juxtaposed with the "Fractured Rainbow" painting done in Greece in 2010.  I was happier in Ibiza than in Greece when the paintings were done.  More important is remembering that even when things are bleak there are always rainbows!

Paros Weeds

Two weeds loom tall high up on the island of Paros looking down at the view of Anti Paros.

I did a Paros Weeds sketch June 2010 then this oil painting which has gone through various forms from just the two weeds with a plain background, to two weeds against a pen & ink background to this final view with some of the background painted in.
